About Us
The ATHENA Society of Burleson is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2003 and composed of women in the Burleson area who have been honored with the ATHENA Leadership Award. What began as a way to recognize individual leadership and community service has evolved into a philanthropic organization committed to empowering women and uplifting the community.
Through its signature fundraising event — the Tree-Mendous Gala — the Society supports Johnson County and Burleson residents facing cancer or life-threatening illnesses, while also promoting educational opportunities through local nonprofits and scholarships.
The ATHENA Society’s mission is to help women realize their leadership potential, invest in the community with dignity and grace, and provide tangible support to families in need.
