Bells Across American Celebration

You are invited to gather together at 2:45 pm Thursday, September 17, 2026 
During early days of our country, bells (church bells, firehouse bells, and town and city 
hall bells) were used to call people together, to alert them to important announcements 
or events.
September 17th will mark the 239th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution, which is 
commemorated annually by the “Ringing of the Bells” across America. The Daughters of 
the American Revolution have allowed Unit 50 of the American Legion Auxiliary to join 
them in coordinating this year’s “Ringing of the Bells Across America Celebration”. 
Bells will be rung across our land for ONE MINUTE beginning at 3pm (Central time) and 
bells both large and small will ring for one minute. Then, together, we will all recite the 
Preamble to commemorate this special anniversary. (817-558-4848 for questions)
